Some of you may know that Patreon announced, rather suddenly, a change to the way they will be charging patrons. Here’s how we plan to respond:
- We already planned a renovation of the Patreon page to give subscribers more bang for their buck and improve fulfillment. Those changes will be will be announced in a full post in January of 2018. Please stay tuned and stay active for that update.
- We’re looking into restructuring the reward tiers so charges to subscribers will be transparent. We do not want you to accrue any hidden fees. Assuming Patreon goes through with their inadvisable changes, these edits will go live before the end of the month with a post on Patreon explaining them.
- Please keep in mind that many creators on Patreon rely on the steadiness of income offered with the service. There are many Patreon accounts hit harder than Dresden Codak, but if you can afford the fees please stick by the artists you support. Even if you’re (rightfully) angry at Patreon, deleting pledges is hurting creators right before the holiday season.
If you’re into the idea of dropping tips in gratitude, Dresden Codak now has a Ko-fi. Ko-fi is a tipping service for one-time donations in units of “cups of coffee.” Payments go through PayPal, and a PayPal account is all you need to sign up.
If you check out the Ko-Fi page, we also have small updates and rewards there as well.
We already have a regular PayPal tip jar, where you can give ongoing or one-time contributions of any amount to Dresden Codak.
Obviously, there are still the more traditional ways to help us keep the lights on and those are invaluable. Get your hands on physical merchandise at the TopatoCo Store (and there will be new merch in the next few months, hint hint)
If you’re into digital merchandise, check out Gumroad for wallpapers for your computer, phone, tablet or social media.
Support without Spending
Sharing the comic site, new pages, or your favorite past comic pages on social media is always a great way to show support that doesn’t cost a dime!
Thank you all for your continuing support of Dresden Codak over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to do this as my full time job since 2010 and it’s because of you all.
